The Central PTO wants to hear from you!

Thank you parents for another successful year at Central School!

So many of you offered your precious time to assist with all of our many activities throughout the year.  Plus, you generously supported our fundraising efforts to help us raise nearly $20,000.   All of that money goes right back into the school and pays for learning resources, field trips, special events and more.

Here’s a list of just a few of the items we purchased throughout the year

Storyworks

PebbleGo

Study Island

Buses for field trips

Plus we raised almost $3,000 in our Spring Book Fair!

THANK YOU!  All of those proceeds go toward new books for the Central library.

We’d love to hear from you!

Please take a few minutes to take this survey. It’s just 10 questions to give us an idea how the PTO is doing in your opinion and what you’d like to see changed.

CLICK HERE TO TAKE THE SURVEY.

Your feedback is important to us!  We appreciate your response and look forward to hearing your thoughts.

The Scholastic Book Fair will be at Central School in just a few weeks.

We are in need of some volunteers to assist with sales and set-up and clean-up of the Book Fair.

It is an easy job and not much time is needed.

Volunteers are needed before and after school to ring up sales and help students make their selections.

Set up will be sometime November 16 – 18 and then runs Thursday, November 19th and Friday, November 20th  for about 30 minutes before and after school.

The Fair will also run on Monday and Tuesday, November 23rd and 24th.  There is no school those days but the Book Fair will be open during parent-teacher conferences.

Colleen Gillespie is the Book Fair coordinator.  Please contact Colleen if you can help out.  Her email is [email protected]

The PTO is looking for someone to take over as the Book Fair coordinator next year.  If you are interested, please be sure to volunteer with Colleen to “learn the ropes.”

Free tickets to the Chicago Wolves

Central students have a chance to earn a FREE ticket to a Chicago Wolves game.

This week papers went home with students with information on the Wolves’ “Read to Succeed” and “Howl For Your Health” programs.

Check out the flyers and if you are interested,  simply have your child participate in one or both of the programs.

They will need to set a reading goal or physical challenge goal and then fill out the chart.

All completed charts should be returned to the front office.   Once I receive the completed charts, I will send your student home with a certificate that can be redeemed for a free ticket to specific games at Allstate Arena.  Those game dates are listed on the flyer that was sent home.  Every student can earn ONE FREE TICKET for each program.  You can also order extra tickets for $20.75/each plus a $5 service fee per order.

We hope this a fun incentive for students to read and exercise!

If you did not receive the papers that were sent home,  check with Mrs. Guill. There are extras in the front office.

Contact me if you have any questions,  [email protected]  or (312) 399-9505

Thanks!
